Deer ticks, in particular, are the breed of tick that carries the disease, and they are far too prevalent in the New England region to be ignored. Although wooded areas are ideal for tick activity, with the growing population of deer, tick activity is becoming more common in all areas of New England. The Griggs & Browne tick control process

Our traditional tick reduction program consists of a three-stage treatment plan. The first two applications are made in the spring and summer, with a final application being made in the fall. This three-stage treatment is based on the ticks’ life cycle. While this is classified as a reduction and not elimination – if performed regularly throughout the year – should effectively minimize the potential for a tick infestation.

The Griggs & Browne mosquito control process

Our traditional mosquito reduction program consists of a monthly treatment plan, typically from May through October, to effectively reduce the mosquito population on the property. The treatments are very similar to tick treatments with the main difference being the frequency of the applications. Because mosquitoes are flying insects, treatments need to be made monthly to ensure adequate control.

Safeguarding kids and pets

One of the most frequently asked questions about our tick and mosquito treatments is how the treatment will affect their children and/or pets. People and pets are instructed to stay inside during application, but generally can return to treated areas an hour or so later, depending on weather conditions. Our professional technicians utilize the utmost caution when performing tick and mosquito applications, avoiding flowering plants, edible plants, bodies of water, and other sensitive areas.
