Why Wasps are Important to All of Us

Wasps are important all of us for several reasons. They help control pests naturally, and they kill pests like spiders, mosquitoes and flies that can transmit diseases to humans.

Did you know wasps are also pollinators? They help the bees with this important task.

And lastly, a specific species of wasps called Polybia paulista are being used in cancer research. The venom from these wasps is showing promise in many studies. The venom kills cancer cells while leaving normal cells healthy.

Also important to note is that wasps aren’t generally aggressive unless they feel threatened or are protecting their nest.
